Production Process Engineering Role (6-12 yrs)

Our client is a global management consulting firm focused on business performance improvement, transformation and turnaround management services. They are currently working with a large Vietnamese client in the Beverage / FMCG sector on a large scale transformation (expected to be a 24-month journey) where they will be providing both advisory and execution support. At the moment the client's performance metrics are low, they are experiencing regulatory pressures on gross margins and aren't seeing the growth they have targeted materialise.

The focus of the engagement will be transformation of their procurement and manufacturing functions delivered through a build, operate, transfer model. To support this work, the consulting firm are seeking to hire an 3-4 production engineers who can initially work for the Plant Head within the consulting team to drive the transformation across the various manufacturing plants before then having the option to transition into a permanent role with the client team.

Production Process Engineer:

Process Design and Optimisation:

- Develop and optimise manufacturing processes (e.g., mixing, blending, bottling).

- Analyse current processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost, and quality

Production Planning and Control:

- Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth workflow and meet production targets

- Implement process controls to maintain consistent product quality

Quality Assurance:

- Establish and monitor quality standards throughout the production process

- Work with quality control teams to resolve issues and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory requirements

Equipment Management:

- Select, install, and maintain production equipment

- Develop maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability

Process Improvement:

- Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies to reduce waste and enhance efficiency

- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and introduce best practices in production

Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:

- Identify and resolve issues in production processes quickly to minimize disruptions

- Use data analysis and root cause analysis techniques to implement effective solutions

Safety and Compliance:

- Ensure production processes adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations

- Develop and implement safety protocols and conduct safety training for staff

Delivery of key initiatives:

- Lead projects related to process upgrades, new product introductions, or equipment installations

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality, and maintenance teams

Data Analysis and Reporting:

- Monitor production data and generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs)

- Use data-driven insights to recommend process changes and support decision-making

Sustainability Initiatives:

- Implement energy-efficient and waste-reduction strategies

Experience:

- Deep understanding of lean manufacturing systems

- Waste management expertise (on line)

- Lean Manufacturing

- Lean Six Sigma

- Beverage Sector experience

- This requires someone on-site at their 4 manufacturing plant locations in Binh Duong and Hau Giang
