NMS/EMS Test Engineer - Netconf/Yang/SNMP (4-9 yrs)

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced NMS/EMS Test Engineer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing complex network management systems (NMS) and element management systems (EMS), particularly within the Optical Transport Network domain.

This role requires expertise in test planning, test case design, automation using Python and Robot Framework, and a deep understanding of FCAP functionalities (Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Provisioning).

Experience with Netconf and SNMP protocols is essential.

Responsibilities :

- Test Planning & Design : Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies for NMS/EMS releases, considering functional, performance, and security requirements.

- Test Case Development : Design and execute detailed test cases using Python test scripting, covering various functionalities including fault management, configuration management, accounting, provisioning, and performance monitoring.

- Automation : Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python Robot Framework to improve testing efficiency and coverage.

- NMS/EMS Domain Expertise : Apply in-depth knowledge of NMS/EMS concepts, particularly in Optical Transport Networks, to effectively test and validate system behavior.

- FCAP Testing : Conduct thorough testing of FCAP functionalities, focusing on Fault, Configuration, Accounting, and Provisioning aspects. Demonstrate a clear understanding of alarm and configuration management concepts.

- Protocol Knowledge : Work with and understand Netconf and SNMP protocols, explaining the high-level workflow for operations related to alarm and configuration management. Be able to articulate the E2E workflow for the areas worked on.

- Performance Monitoring : Design and execute tests to evaluate system performance and identify potential bottlenecks.

- Defect Tracking : Report and track defects using a bug tracking system, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.

- Collaboration : Collaborate effectively with development, product, and other testing teams to ensure high-quality product releases.

- Documentation : Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.

Mandatory Skills :

- 4-9 years of experience in Software Testing (Band B2/B3).

- Proven experience in NMS/EMS domain testing, preferably within the Optical Transport Network domain.

- Strong experience in creating test suites and test cases using Python test scripting.

- Working experience with FCAP (Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Provisioning) testing.

- Good understanding and experience in Test Planning.

- Hands-on experience with Alarm and Configuration Management concepts.

- Experience working with and explaining the workflow of Netconf and SNMP protocols.

- Ability to explain the End-to-End workflow for the areas of expertise.

- Test experience in Performance Monitoring.

- Experience in automation using Python Robot Framework.
