Key Responsibilities for Business Development Manager:
1. Strategic Market Development:
- Research and identify potential clients, markets, and partnerships that align with the company's strategic goals.
- Analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities and create actionable strategies.
- Achieve and exceed a defined business growth target (e.g., 25% annual revenue increase).
2. Team Leadership and Performance Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the BDE team to ensure they meet individual and collective targets.
- Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
3. Lead Generation and Client Engagement:
- Oversee lead generation efforts through networking and follow-ups on marketing-generated leads.
- Conduct client visits to build relationships, present solutions, and close deals.
- Prepare and deliver impactful presentations, proposals, and contracts to prospective clients.
4. Business Growth and Strategy Execution:
- Collaborate with senior management to create and execute comprehensive business development plans.
- Set and achieve ambitious sales targets, KPIs, and revenue goals.
- Recommend strategies for revenue growth and profitability based on financial and business data.
5. Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders at client organizations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met and business objectives achieved.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to align efforts and maximize opportunities.
- Ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction by coordinating with internal teams.
7. Sales Negotiation and Closing Deals:
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with clients to ensure mutual benefit.
- Close deals and oversee the transition of clients to operations or account management teams.
8. Reporting and Analytics:
- Maintain detailed records of sales activities, client interactions, and follow-up actions.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on business development activities, market conditions, and competitor analysis.
- Track sales performance against targets and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Any Graduate.
- Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in business development, sales, or related fields, preferably in the FMCG sector.
- Skills:
o Strong networking, communication, and negotiation abilities.
o Proficiency in CRM software and managing a sales pipeline.
o Analytical skills to interpret market trends and customer needs.
o Proven track record of delivering measurable business growth (e.g., achieving a 25% annual revenue increase).
o Results-oriented with the ability to work independently.
Preferred Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of FMCG operations and market dynamics.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with C-suite executives.
