Civil Engineer (Offroll)

Accountabilities & Activities

Overall

• Hands on experience in execution of Civil Works in Oil and gas, Petrochemicals Projects during construction, pre-commissioning & commissioning phases of the Project. Experience in Offshore works like SPM, Jetty, Offshore pipeline etc is must.
• Shall have thorough understanding of Soil investigation, Contour survey, Layouts/ Plot plan, Foundation Drawings, Structures, Piling, Units
• Plan, coordinate, expedite timely execution of Civil works by PMC / EPC Contractor. Support Project Manager to maintain Quality, Schedule and Cost of the Project as per approved Baselines
• Ensure timely receipt of Drawings, AFCs, Equipment and material at Site to release Construction Work
• Monitor progress on daily / weekly basis, identify and address bottlenecks, alert Project Manager in time on any potential delay or Cost Overruns
• To ensure Project / Company HSE goals are achieved
• Ensure Codes, Standards and Project Specifications are strictly followed by PMC / EPC Contractor
• Up-to-date knowledge in various ASTM / ASME / ANSI API / IS standards and thorough knowledge in usage and applications of different Material of Construction
• Resolve all issues related to Civil discipline.
• Support other disciplines with inputs related to
• Civil Engineering activities.

Routine Work

• To visit Construction Site daily to check Civil and Stuctural activities by Contractor is as per approved Erection/ construction Plan, QA/QC Plan, Project Specifications
• Expedite release of Foundations drgs for erection of Equipment
• Review and approve of QA/ QC Plan, Erection Schemes following Codes, Standards and Project Specifications.
• Monitor and expedite availability of required Manpower, Machineries at Site
• Co-ordinate, review, approve Concrete Design Mix, Construction Quality Lab requirements as per IS Codes, Structural Prefab Drawings by PMC / EPC Contractor
• Expedite Liquidation of Punch Lists, expedite signing off Format Systems to achieve Completion of individual Systems / Project
• Participate in periodic quality audits.
• Ensure timely closure of Site queries, Non-conformance Reports, Deviations, etc. by PMC / EPC Contractor
• Review RA Bills for payment verification / certification
• Monitor material receipt, Inspect them for quality and quantity, storage and preservation.
• Monitor issue of material from store meeting site requirement and ensure it safely reaches the location by appropriate transportation.
• Approve material reconciliation during handing over by Contractor
• Review / Approve As-builts and Final documentation

Key Challenges

• Coordination with PMC, EPC Contractor and Operational Team for timely completion of Piping works as per Schedule and QA/QC Plan
• Ensure compliance to all codes, standards and specifications by PMC / EPC Contractors.

Skills & Knowledge

A. Educational Qualifications & Certifications:

• BE / B.Tech in Civil Engineering
• Thorough knowledge in Offshore construction Schemes

B. Relevant (Functional/Level) & Total Years of Experience:

• Hands on experience in execution of Civil/ Structural Works in Brown / Green Field Projects in Refinery/ Petrochemical especially in Offshore area
• Worked in Shut down period in an Operating Plant will be an added advantage
• 8-12 years Experience in Civil/ Structural Construction Work.

C. Functional Skills:

• Experience in Civil/ Structural Works
• Day to day co-ordination with PMC / EPC Contractors
• Knowledge of IS, ANSI, ASME other related Codes standards
• Ability of review cost estimates, time schedules
