The primary role of an Architectural Draughtsman is to work with senior architects to produce 2D draughts and renders, 3D architectural models, coordinate draughts and models for structural and MEP designs, and manage design documentation.
2D Draughting and Rendering: Produce detailed 2D architectural drawings and renderings for industrial projects, ensuring high levels of accuracy and quality.
3D Modelling: Utilise 3D modelling techniques to create realistic representations of architectural designs, facilitating better understanding and decision-making among project stakeholders.
Coordination for Drafts and Models: Coordinate and integrate architectural, structural, civil, and MEP designs into comprehensive project plans.
Collaborate with Senior Architects: Understand project requirements, contribute to the development of initial design concepts through to final execution.
Documentation: Ensure all architectural documents comply with industry standards, local building codes, and safety regulations.
Document Management: Manage and maintain project documentation, including drawings, models, and specifications, ensuring they are organised and accessible.
Knowledge and Technical Skill Requirements Mandatory
Expertise in CAD software, namely AutoCAD and the AutoCAD Architecture toolset, for 2D draughting and rendering tasks.
Proficiency in 3D modelling and BIM software, namely Revit, to create detailed architectural models.
Solid understanding of architectural principles, construction techniques, and material specifications.
Preferred
Familiarity with building documentation regulations and safety standards.
Experience and Qualification Requirements
Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Drafting, or a closely related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Architectural Draughtsman, with a proven track record in complex projects.
