The primary role of a Senior Project Engineer is to lead engineering projects through health and safety experience, project planning, design oversight, risk management, quality assurance, stakeholder management, budget control and continuous improvement in project delivery. Key responsibilities include:
Project Leadership: Lead the engineering design and execution of complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project goals, timelines, and budget.
Engineering Expertise: Apply strong technical knowledge of the engineering design process, methodologies, and relevant documentation to guide project teams effectively.
Health and Safety: Implement and enforce rigorous health and safety protocols on projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices to create a safe working environment.
Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, and scheduling, to ensure efficient project execution.
Design Oversight: Provide technical guidance and oversight to design teams, reviewing design proposals, calculations, and drawings to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
Risk Management: Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies, closely monitoring potential issues and taking proactive steps to prevent delays or setbacks.
Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet the required quality standards and specifications through thorough reviews and inspections.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure effective communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
Budget Control: Monitor project costs and expenses, providing recommendations to optimize resource allocation and manage project budgets effectively.

Knowledge Requirements Mandatory
Strong knowledge and experience in the engineering design process, methodologies, and documentation standards
Knowledge of sustainable engineering practices and environmental considerations in project design
In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations, with the ability to enforce safety measures and ensure compliance on projects
Proficiency in project management tools and software for planning, scheduling, and tracking project progress
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Preferred
Professional engineering licensure or certification in relevant disciplines
Familiarity with relevant engineering software and tools for design and analysis
Experience and Qualification Requirements
Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field; masters degree is a plus.
Minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects.
Demonstrated experience in health and safety management on engineering projects.
