General Manager Operations

Roles and Responsibilities:

Production & Operations Management:

• Oversee and manage all operational activities across both plants (Matoda and Vatva), ensuring smooth operations in Production, Purchase, PPC (Production Planning and Control), Fabrication, Maintenance, Store, Dispatch, Factory Administration, Spares, and Quality Control (QC).
• Ensure timely dispatch of plants, spare parts, and Free of Cost (F.O.C.) units, along with efficient planning and management of dispatch schedules.

Procurement & Planning:

• Responsible for the planning and procurement of machining and casting components, ensuring all materials meet the required standards for production.
• Approve purchase orders (P.O.) and manage the raw material procurement process, including approval of indents for raw materials and consumables.
• Lead forecast planning of plant production and operations, aligning it with overall company goals.

Fabrication Management:

• Provide strong leadership and oversight of the fabrication team, ensuring effective production processes, quality standards, and timelines are met.
• Work closely with the fabrication team to enhance productivity and quality, while addressing any challenges or roadblocks.
• Ensure the optimal functioning of fabrication machines and contribute to the improvement of fabrication processes.

Cost Control & Optimization:

• Lead cost-reduction initiatives in machining, plant operations, and procurement processes to optimize efficiency and profitability.
• Oversee cost estimations for plant repairs and ensure maintenance activities are budgeted effectively.
• Focus on cost reduction strategies within the plant to improve overall profitability.

Vendor & Supplier Management:

• Oversee the approval of vendor bills, contractor bills, and case vouchers for plant operations.
• Drive the development of new vendors to maintain a reliable and cost-efficient supply chain for components and materials.

Quality & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and manage ISO preparation and internal audits.
• Investigate customer complaints and lead corrective actions to reduce complaints and enhance customer satisfaction.

Miscellaneous Responsibilities:

• Manage the installation of key equipment such as paint booths and ensure the successful shifting of shot blasting machines.
• Supervise stock-taking and inventory management, ensuring adequate materials are available for production without overstocking.
• Interface with customers to address concerns, provide solutions, and ensure a positive customer experience.

Key Skills:

• Expertise in fabrication processes and managing a fabrication team to ensure high-quality outputs.
• Proven leadership capabilities in manufacturing operations, including production, procurement, dispatch, and quality control.
• Strong cost control and optimization skills, with a track record of driving cost reduction initiatives in large manufacturing plants.
• Deep knowledge of capital equipment and earth-moving equipment manufacturing.
• Familiarity with ISO standards, audits, and quality management systems.
• Excellent communication and vendor management skills, with the ability to negotiate and develop new suppliers.
