Role Overview

The Deputy General Manager (DGM) for Operations plays a key leadership role in overseeing and managing the end-to-end ocean export processes. Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Leadership

• Oversee the entire ocean operations, including booking, documentation, customs clearance, and shipment tracking.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, port authorities, and related stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery.
• Ensure accurate and timely execution of export documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and certificates of origin.

2. Team Management

• Lead and manage the operations team, ensuring alignment with business goals and service standards.
• Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team competencies and operational knowledge.
• Handle team performance appraisals and implement measures to address skill gaps.

3. Customer Service Excellence

• Act as a primary contact for key clients to address concerns and deliver tailored solutions.

4. Cost Optimization and Vendor Management

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, or related fields.
• 12+ years of experience in ocean freight operations, with a strong background in export processes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of global shipping practices, customs regulations, and export documentation.
