Machinery Purchase Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities:

Vendor Management:

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for machinery and equipment.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure the best service and pricing.

Procurement Planning:

• Analyze the organization's machinery needs and plan purchases accordingly.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand technical requirements and specifications.

Negotiation & Contracts:

• Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery timelines with vendors.
• Draft and review purchase agreements and contracts to ensure compliance with organizational standards.

Quality Assurance:

• Ensure all procured machinery meets the required quality and performance standards.
• Arrange for inspections and testing of machinery when necessary.

Market Research:

• Stay updated on market trends, new technologies, and pricing strategies.
• Evaluate alternatives to ensure cost-effective and innovative procurement solutions.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier details.
• Provide regular reports to management on procurement activities and cost savings.

Miscellaneous Responsibilities:

• Manage the installation of key equipment such as paint booths and ensure the successful shifting of shot blasting machines.
• Supervise stock-taking and inventory management, ensuring adequate materials are available for production without overstocking.
• Interface with customers to address concerns, provide solutions, and ensure a positive customer experience.

Key Skills:

• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Knowledge of machinery and technical specifications is a plus.
• Expertise in Supply Chain Management and New Vendor Development/Management.
• Proven experience in negotiation and handling purchases exceeding 50 crore per annum.
