Technology Consulting-DT CSG-Data Privacy and Ethics Assistant Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Manager to join our Technology Consulting - DT CSG - Data Privacy and Ethics team. In this role, you will assist clients in navigating the complex landscape of data privacy, governance, and ethical considerations in the digital age. You will work closely with clients to develop and implement data privacy strategies that align with global regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices, ensuring the responsible and secure handling of sensitive data. As a key member of the team, you will help organizations build trust with customers, comply with data protection laws, and mitigate privacy risks while supporting ethical data practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Privacy Strategy Development: Collaborate with clients to design and implement data privacy strategies tailored to their specific needs, ensuring alignment with global privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and industry standards. Provide guidance on how to manage customer data responsibly and ethically.

• Regulatory Compliance & Governance: Assist clients in understanding and complying with complex data protection regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other regional or sector-specific privacy laws. Help clients develop governance frameworks to maintain compliance with these regulations.

• Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIAs): Lead or assist clients in conducting Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to assess the impact of new projects, systems, or processes on data privacy. Provide actionable recommendations to mitigate privacy risks and ensure compliance.

• Data Ethics & Responsible Data Use: Promote ethical data practices across client organizations, ensuring that data is collected, used, and shared responsibly. Advise on the ethical implications of data processing activities, including AI and machine learning applications, and help clients balance innovation with ethical considerations.

• Risk Identification & Mitigation: Identify data privacy and ethics risks related to technology implementations and data processing activities. Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure that data security measures are in place to protect client data from unauthorized access, breaches, or misuse.

• Data Protection Frameworks: Advise clients on the establishment of comprehensive data protection frameworks, including data classification, data retention policies, data encryption, anonymization, and pseudonymization. Ensure that the data protection measures align with regulatory requirements and best practices.

• Training & Awareness Programs: Develop and deliver training and awareness programs to help client employees understand data privacy principles, ethical data use, and regulatory compliance. Promote a privacy-first culture across client organizations.

• Vendor Management & Third-Party Risk: Assist clients in evaluating third-party vendors’ data privacy practices and ensuring that contracts include appropriate data protection clauses. Help clients develop processes for assessing third-party risks and maintaining privacy standards across their supply chain.

• Incident Response & Data Breach Management: Work with clients to develop incident response plans for potential data breaches or privacy violations. Guide clients through the process of breach detection, reporting, and response, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.

• Continuous Improvement & Monitoring: Stay up to date with emerging data privacy trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies. Recommend continuous improvements to data privacy practices, ensuring that clients are prepared for evolving privacy challenges.

• Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: Provide clear, concise reports and presentations to senior stakeholders on data privacy risks, regulatory compliance, and data protection efforts. Help clients understand the business and reputational implications of privacy and ethical lapses.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in data privacy, compliance, and ethics, with a solid understanding of global data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and best practices for data governance.
• Strong experience in conducting Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and providing data protection and risk mitigation strategies.
• Proven knowledge of data privacy laws, including GDPR , CCPA , HIPAA , and other relevant global or industry-specific privacy regulations.
• Experience working with data protection technologies such as encryption, anonymization, and data masking techniques.
• Familiarity with the ethical considerations of emerging technologies such as AI , machine learning , big data , and IoT .
• Strong communication skills , with the ability to explain complex data privacy and ethical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Project management experience , with the ability to manage multiple client engagements, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Risk management experience, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating privacy and ethics risks in technology implementations.

Preferred Skills:

• Certifications such as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) , Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) , Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) , or similar privacy-related certifications.
• Familiarity with cloud privacy and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27018).
• Experience with data ethics frameworks and the application of ethical principles in data usage, especially in AI and machine learning contexts.
• Familiarity with third-party risk management tools and practices, including the evaluation of vendor contracts and data sharing agreements.
• Knowledge of privacy-enhancing technologies and the application of privacy-by-design and privacy-by-default principles.
