Network and System Administrator

Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable Network and System Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate should have expertise in managing Windows Domain Controllers, Linux systems, and networking infrastructure. The role involves ensuring seamless operation of IT systems, maintaining network security, and optimizing server performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Windows Domain Controller Management:
- Install, configure, and manage Windows Server and Active Directory (AD).
- Create and manage user accounts, groups, and policies in Active Directory.
- Configure and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to enforce security and system policies.
- Manage DNS, DHCP, and other domain-related services.
- Perform regular system updates, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
Linux System Administration:
- Install, configure, and manage Linux-based servers.
- Perform system updates, patches, and performance optimization on Linux systems.
- Manage services such as Samba, Apache, Nginx, or other Linux-based tools.
- Troubleshoot system and application issues on Linux servers.
- Write shell scripts for automation and task optimization.
Networking:
- Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Troubleshoot LAN/WAN and wireless connectivity issues.
- Set up and manage VPN connections for secure remote access.
- Implement and maintain firewalls and network security measures.
- Monitor network performance and optimize for high availability.
Backup and Monitoring:
- Implement backup solutions for Windows and Linux servers.
- Set up monitoring tools to track system and network performance.
- Respond to alerts and troubleshoot system or network outages.Collaboration and Documentation:
- Work with the IT team to ensure seamless integration between systems.
- Document configurations, policies, and troubleshooting procedures.

Required Skills:
- **Windows**: Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016, 2019, or newer).
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPOs.
- Familiarity with Windows-based security policies and best practices.
- **Linux**: Proficiency in managing Linux servers (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, or Red Hat).
- Experience with command-line tools and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python).
- **Networking**: Knowledge of networking protocols and devices (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF).
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, switches, and routers (e.g., Cisco, SonicWall).
- Familiarity with VPNs, VLANs, and network security tools.
- **General IT**: Familiarity with virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V.
- Basic knowledge of cloud services (AWS or Azure).
- Experience with backup and recovery tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelors degree in any stream (e.g., Computer Science, IT, or related fields).
- Certifications like MCSA, MCSE, CCNA, or RHCE.
- 3+ years of experience in network and system administration.
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or PowerShell.
