POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The system administrator role is to support internal and external systems, including but not limited to Windows servers, internally developed applications, patching, Linux systems, virtualization, backups, and application deployments. Develops and maintains all systems, applications, security, and network configurations. Troubleshoots performance issues and creates and maintains system configurations, standards, and documentation. The system administrator executes on upgrades, patches, new applications and equipment. Provides technical support, documentation, and guidance to users when needed, and is familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience, guidance, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks as assigned by team leadership in regard to infrastructure support. May provide consultation on projects and may be a contributor to ongoing department projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS (up to five):
1. Maintain operating systems performance and efficiencies through pro-active monitoring. Support services such as Active Directory, IIS, Linux applications and Microsoft Server applications while adhering to existing standards.
2. Monitor all aspects of scheduled automated tasks such as patching, backups, JAMS jobs, and others.
3. Create documentation and information on existing and new technology to peers and customers.
4. Ability to resolve complex issues and troubleshooting challenges.
5. Create, trouble shoot and respond to help desk tickets.
