Senior Technical Tester- Automobile Industry

Role & responsibilities

1. Test Planning & Strategy

• Develop Test Strategies: Design comprehensive test plans and strategies that cover both manual and automated testing for embedded systems, ECU software, ADAS, and infotainment systems.
• Define Test Cases: Create detailed test cases and scenarios based on requirements, ensuring complete coverage of functional, performance, and safety aspects.
• Risk Analysis: Identify and prioritize potential risks and failure points in the system, and plan testing activities accordingly.

2. Execution & Validation

• Test Execution: Lead the execution of tests using a variety of tools (e.g., HIL, SIL, CANalyzer, dSPACE) to simulate real-world conditions.
• Automation: Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to streamline repetitive testing tasks.
• Result Analysis: Analyze test outcomes to identify defects or performance issues, and ensure proper documentation for further analysis.

3. Collaboration & Leadership

• Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with software developers, hardware engineers, and quality assurance teams to ensure alignment on test requirements and issue resolution.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior testers, providing training and support in advanced testing methodologies and industry standards.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicate test progress, challenges, and results to project managers and senior leadership, ensuring all stakeholders are informed.

4. Compliance & Standards

• Regulatory Adherence: Ensure testing practices comply with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 26262, ASPICE, MISRA) and that the product meets safety and quality benchmarks.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of test processes, results, and changes, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulatory audits.

5. Continuous Improvement

• Process Optimization: Evaluate current testing processes and tools, and implement improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Technology Integration: Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating new tools and methodologies as appropriate.
• Feedback Loop: Use test results and performance data to provide actionable feedback to design and development teams, fostering continuous product improvement.

6. Special Projects & Innovations

• Prototype Testing: Support the development and testing of prototypes, contributing to the early identification of issues.
• Advanced Testing Techniques: Engage in model-based testing, simulation environments, and cybersecurity assessments to ensure robust system validation.
