Communications Specialist

• IPE Globals Social and Economic Empowerment practice works towards building girl capital, empowering women and nurturing resilient communities by creating inclusive and sustainable solutions including but not limited to policy development, capacity building, adaptive management, community mobilisation, behavioural change communication, deepening social safety nets, beneficiary feedback analysis, poverty assessment, and evidence-based monitoring
• IPE Global invites applications from eligible candidates for the position of Communication Specialist for its Social and Economic Empowerment (SEE) practice
• The communication specialist will be responsible for identification, designing and implementation of communication and media strategies to achieve the strategic engagement objectives
• S/he will be responsible for developing partnerships with Civil Society Organization, Government Agencies, and the Media
• S/he will lead the content development and dissemination using innovative tools to reach its target audiences and support goals related to visibility and impact

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and regularly update effective communication strategy and action plan aligned with the goals and objective of Social and Economic Empowerment practice and the projects it undertakes
• Develop and Manage external communication including, but not limited to success stories, reports, newsletters, presentations, etc that communicate lessons and success over the years
• Produce, finalize and disseminate multi-media products, including social media channels (to be done in collaboration with corporate communication and SEE specific project teams)
• For projects directly assigned, develop and manage events calendar relevant to priorities and support representation of project insights and learnings as applicable
• Also, assist in organizing events in consultation with the project teams
• Identify opportunity via events, conferences, workshops and media publications for sharing of successful initiatives, insights and learnings for wider dissemination
• Foster relationship with key sector leaders and stakeholders and find opportunity for project and SEE specific engagement
• Assist in wider communication of strategies and messages from SEE and IPE leadership
• Represent communication initiatives at corporate and donor level
• Understand and at all times ensure alignment with donor and corporate branding guidelines
• As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the incumbent may be required to undertake other duties as determined by the Reporting manager that are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities
• Educational Qualifications and Skills:

Essential

• Masters degree in mass communication, journalism, social sciences or a related relevant field from a recognized university is essential;
• 12-15 years of professional work experience at national level in public relations, communications, or advocacy, including mass media relations, preferably in areas related to adolescent and women empowerment and health
• Experience in copywriting and editing
• Experience in web design and content production is a plus
• Excellent MS Office skills is a must; Working knowledge of photo and video-editing software will be an asset
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Flexibility to travel extensively to project location
• Strong oral and written communication skills both in Hindi and English
