We are looking to recruit an Intern who will support the research and management and contribute to the exciting work undertaken by the Climate Change and Sustainability vertical of IPE Global. She/he will primarily be responsible for doing primary and secondary data collection and analysis. The work might require frequent field visits and coordination with various stakeholders. She/he should have knowledge of data science techniques and methodologies for climate data analysis and research. The Climate Change and Sustainability Practice at IPE Global has substantial experience delivering multiyear and high-impact programmes. These programmes are supported by leading donors and foundations and are implemented in partnership with coveted research institutions, civil society organizations, and public institutions. The Intern will work with a team of high-performing professionals. Key Responsibilities. The research intern is expected to assist researchers in the team in the following: Assist the team in conducting literature reviews and background research on specific climate-related topics. Contribute to desk research for an exhaustive review of available information and policy frameworks that mainstream climate change and sustainability. Assist the team with available research methodological frameworks that promulgate climate change public policy around adaptation and mitigation-centric activities. Assist in acquiring climate data from various sources, including satellite imagery, climate models, remote sensing data, etc Clean and format raw data to ensure consistency and quality. Contribute to statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze climate data. Assist the team in creating visualizations, charts and maps. Contribute to reports and develop other research products as part of the research team. Participate constructively in weekly team meetings. Education and Experiences: Educational: Pursuing or freshly graduated masters degree with specialization in Climate Change, Environmental Science, GIS Environment Technology, or other relevant field is a must. Professional Attributes: Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). A fair understanding of data manipulation and analysis using Python, MATLAB or similar tools. A fair understanding of GIS and data visualization software. A fair understanding of climate modelling tools used for risk assessments. Preference for candidates with knowledge and skills in preparing reports, presentations, and concept notes. Ability to work effectively and efficiently in multi-cultural and multi-ethnic teams.
