Responsibilities:
- Administer and automate technologies such as DataDog and SolarWinds.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools using Ansible (AWX), Jenkins, Python, and Golang to streamline monitoring operations and enhance efficiency.
- Utilize your strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems to provide administration and troubleshooting support for these tools.
- Create and manage DataDog dashboards, synthetics, and metrics, and implement tagging strategies.
- Maintain a Golang application for secure credential management with HashiCorp Vault.
- Develop and maintain containerized DataDog agents on OpenShift environments using HELM.
- Manage DataDog functionalities including Data Collection, Metrics, Tracing, Logs, RUM, Synthetics, Alerting (Pagerduty), Dashboards, Integrations (Windows, VSphere, Docker, etc. ), Team Agents (Endpoint monitoring), and Secrets Management.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on SolarWinds, such as restarting Windows services and checking logs.
- Collaborate with vendor support teams for issue resolution.
- Ensure the reliability and performance of monitoring tools.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for monitoring-related issues.
- Document processes and procedures in Confluence.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide support and troubleshoot operational issues when necessary.
- Maintain a well-organized approach and display a customer service mindset in all interactions.
- Contribute to documentation efforts, writing in Confluence and creating informative readme files.
- Demonstrate a willingness to help and teach others.
- Proven experience in a monitoring role with a focus on automation and operations.
- Strong proficiency in automation scripting languages such as Ansible (AWX), Jenkins, Python, and Golang.
- Experience with using and maintaining monitoring tools, including DataDog and SolarWinds.
- Solid knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, including administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies and tools such as OpenShift and HELM.
- Basic knowledge of SolarWinds and experience with Windows VM maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, time management, and ability to balance priorities effectively.
- Strong documentation skills, particularly in Confluence.
- Participation in on-call rotations and maintenance windows.
- Proven background in monitoring, including experience with tools like DataDog and SolarWinds.
- Ability to write and understand Ansible (AWX), Jenkins, Python, and Golang code.
- Experience running Jenkins jobs and troubleshooting errors.
- Experience with keeping monitoring services running, secure, and managing their lifecycle.
- Strong operational support and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of Change Management and ITIL practices.
- Experience with Linux and Windows.
