Position Summary
Indus Action is looking for a State Lead in Punjab to project manage the engagements across different
departments in the state to enable welfare access for the most vulnerable citizens. The projects will be in
areas of sustained livelihoods (with a focus on Building and Other Construction Workers Act), pensions
for the vulnerable groups and other welfare entitlements offered for poverty alleviation by the state.
This will require a minimum of 2 year commitment with an opportunity to renew within the same project
or within the Indus Action\u2019s senior leadership track.
Role and Responsibilities
Zonal Operations -
\u25CF Diagnose for pain points and blockers in the process towards efficient welfare access alongside
the Citizen Experience Learning Lab (CELL) within Indus Action and the relevant government
department.
\u25CF Collaborate with CELL, monitoring team and the tech team internally, and with the relevant
stakeholders across government departments to prototype solutions that support scaling within
the state

\u25CF Monitor the effectiveness of the interventions, rigorously evaluate, and engage all stakeholders
proactively in making improvements
\u25CF Build structures, systems to support the execution of the programmes with a focus on continuous
feedback loops from the impacted citizens and government stakeholders
\u25CF Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets for building state capacity for
sustained delivery against prototyped solutions
\u25CF Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders, including
government agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners
\u25CF Proactively identify possible risks in the delivery of committed outputs (welfare access to citizens)
and align the team to mitigate for the same
Team Management:
\u25CF Manage and mentor teams to ensure they are equipped to achieve program objectives
\u25CF Provide feedback and coaching for enabling the development of team members
\u25CF Strengthen capacity within the team on project management, collateral development and
knowledge management to strengthen organisational learning
Financial Management:
\u25CF Monitor programme budgets and ensure that they are being managed effectively

toward aligned outcomes
\u25CF Ideate out of the box solutions through a complex situation in programme management
\u25CF Good analytical (data/evidence gathering, analysis and interpretation, hypotheses framing and
validation).
\u25CF Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
\u25CF Strong Excel capabilities
\u25CF Comfort with technology usage and products

    Education and Experience
    We believe that reaching our vision demands that we have the best and brightest group of leaders
    working to lead our organization. Here are the minimum qualifications we look for:
    \u25CF Bachelor\u2019s Degree from any stream (preference will be given to candidates with background of
    public policy & social science, Master\u2019s degree is a good to have)
    \u25CF Minimum of 6 years of experience in program management with at least 2 years of experience in
    the government sector

    The compensation will be based on the Indus Action\u2018s compensation benchmarking rubric. The range of
    compensation will be depending on the qualifications, experience and fit to the role.
    The candidate would need to use his/her own laptop and the organization will bear the annual
    maintenance cost upto 12000 per year as per actuals.
