Position Summary-
Indus Action is looking for a Zonal Directorwho leads working within the government department(s) sensing data across allline Departments and civil society to deliver on a shared roadmap for enablingefficient welfare access to citizens. The projects will be in the area ofsustained livelihoods (with a focus on Building and Other Construction WorkersAct), credit disbursements, income generation opportunities and other welfareentitlements offered for poverty alleviation by the state.
This will require a minimum of 2 yearcommitment with an opportunity to renew within the same project or within theIndus Action\u2019s senior leadership track.


Requirements Role and Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
Zonal Operations -
\u25CF Diagnose for pain points and blockers in theprocess towards efficient welfare access alongside the Citizen ExperienceLearning Lab (CELL) within Indus Action and the relevant government department.
\u25CF Collaborate with CELL, monitoring team and thetech team internally, and with the relevant stakeholders across governmentdepartments to prototype solutions that support scaling within the state
\u25CF Monitor the effectiveness of the interventions,rigorously evaluate, and engage all stakeholders proactively in makingimprovements
\u25CF Build structures, systems to support theexecution of the programmes with a focus on continuous feedback loops from theimpacted citizens and government stakeholders
\u25CF Develop and maintain policies and procedures forprogramme operations, including programme governance, content development, andquality assurance
\u25CF Develop and maintain project plans, timelines,and budgets for building state capacity for sustained delivery againstprototyped solutions
\u25CF Develop and maintain relationships with externalpartners and stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and privatesector partners
\u25CF Serve as the primary point of contact for keystakeholders from government partners, large NGOs, etc
\u25CF Proactively identify possible risks in thedelivery of committed outputs (welfare access to citizens) and align the teamto mitigate for the same
\u25CF Provide leadership and vision in the ongoingplanning, implementation, development, direction, review and evaluation of theprogrammes in the context of Indus Actions broader vision and goals
Strategic Planning
\u25CF Develop and execute strategies to scale theprogram, ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals and objectives
\u25CF Identify opportunities for partnership andcollaboration with academic institutions, NGOs, corporates, funders, government& the community to increase the reach and impact of the programmes
\u25CF Collaborate with the technology team, CELL andother zonal leaders to offer insights on development of solutions that can bescaled across operational projects within and across zones
\u25CF Seek and action advice from the Advisory Councilmembers in the zone on strategic management of government stakeholders,project(s)\u2019 outcomes and medium term interests of Indus Action in the state andthe zone
Team Management:
\u25CF Manage and mentor teams to ensure they areequipped to achieve program objectives
\u25CF Provide feedback and coaching for enabling thedevelopment of the Lead/ Senior Managers and other team members
\u25CF Strengthen capacity within the team on projectmanagement, collateral development and knowledge management to strengthenorganisational learning
\u25CF Collaborate with other functions such asCommunications, Fundraising, Finance, M&E, and Technology teams to ensurealignment and coordination in key activities within and across zones.
Financial Management:
\u25CF Monitor programme budgets and ensure that theyare being managed effectively \u25CF Provide regular updates to seniormanagement and Board of directors \u25CF Fundraise for organisation projects andmanage budgets for the zone.
Knowledge and Technical Skills
\u25CF Large scale project management skills
\u25CF Capable to work with senior level governmentfunctionaries and navigate through ambiguity toward aligned outcomes
\u25CF Ideate out of the box solutions through acomplex situation in programme management
\u25CF Able to identify and mitigate risks incollaboration with the senior leadership team and advisors
\u25CF Strong analytical (data/evidence gathering,analysis and interpretation, hypotheses framing and validation).
\u25CF Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
\u25CF Strong Excel capabilities
\u25CF Comfort with technology usage and products

Education and Experience -
We believe that reaching our vision demandsthat we have the best and brightest group of leaders working to lead ourorganisation. Here are the minimum qualifications we look for:
\u25CF Master\u2019s Degree from any stream (preference willbe given to candidates with background of public policy & social science)
\u25CF Background in data required
\u25CF Minimum of 10 years of experience in programmanagement, with at least 8 years in the social sector and 2 years in aleadership role.


Benefits Compensation
The compensation will be based on the IndusAction\u2018s compensation benchmarking rubric. The range of compensation will bedepending on the qualifications, experience and fit to the role.
The candidate would need to use his/her ownlaptop and the organization will bear the annual maintenance cost upto 12000per year as per actuals.
Location
The position will be based out of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
