JOB DESCRIPTION Lead-State Consultant

Position: AgRMLT Lead - State Consultant Location: Bhopal, M.P with travel to BRLF geographies of operation. Number of Positions: One Reporting Manager: Program Lead - BRLF Tenure: This is a project-specific consultancy offered for a six-month contract period (Full Time). Renewal may be possible, depending on the project requirement, availability of funds, and performance considerations. 1. ORGANISATION BACKGROUND: BRLF is an autonomous body established in 2013 under the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. It stands out for its unique approach to livelihood development of rural and tribal communities. We aim to transform the lives and livelihoods of the most vulnerable tribal and rural populations across India, nurturing and facilitating civil society action in partnership with the state and central governments. Our focus on livelihoods through natural resource management, watershed development, and climate-resilient sustainable agriculture, along with our emphasis on entrepreneurship, skilling, and financial inclusion, makes our interventions comprehensive and impactful, leading to significant improvements in the lives of rural and tribal communities located mainly in the central tribal belt of the country. However, our geographical scope is pan-India.

2. ROLE DESCRIPTION: BRLF would be implementing the project Agroecology-based Regional Model Landscape Transformation (AgRMLT) (hereinafter referred to as Project ) in two blocks of Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. The objective of the project is building an agroecology-based landscape collaborative governance model in two blocks of Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. This project will be implemented in coordination with the Madhya Pradesh chapter of the National Coalition for Natural Farming (NCNF).

The AgRMLT Lead - State Consultant for the project - is responsible for overseeing and coordinating project activities at the state level. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of rural development

initiatives. Experience in managing large-scale projects and working with diverse stakeholders is essential. 3.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepare project technical and financial plans in coordination with support teams and key partners.

2. Develop robust project monitoring, review, and support mechanism, including the creation of a dashboard.

3. Build relationships with multiple state departments and facilitate liaison for potential support.

4. Establish and strengthen a district-level coalition in Chhatarpur with NCNF partners and members.

5. Lead and manage the project team to ensure effective implementation of activities.

6. Coordinate and support the coalition in developing landscape-level action plans. 7. Facilitate state- and district-level consultations to foster collaboration and

alignment. 8. Assist the coalition in project development and fundraising in line with the

coalition s action plan. 9. Support and coordinate the integration of the Chhatarpur project with other

related projects for knowledge sharing and mutual learning. 10. Any other tasks assigned by the Reporting Manager.

Bachelor s degree in social sciences, rural development, agriculture, natural resource management, or related fields. Masters will be an additional advantage.

Additional certifications in project management, sustainable development, or allied areas are advantageous.

Experience: Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience in managing development projects, preferably

in rural livelihoods, agriculture, or natural resource management. Proven track record of working with government agencies, NGOs, or multilateral

organizations in a leadership or consulting capacity. Prior experience in projects funded by international agencies is preferred. Hands-on experience in planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of large-

scale rural development initiatives. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including government

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED: The consultancy budget is Rs 60,000/- to 70,000/- per month. Taxes will be deducted as per Government norms. The consultancy offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with the qualifications, prior experience, and compensation history. 6. LOCATION: Bhopal, M.P 7. Age Limit: Max. Up to 40 years
