Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe z/OS DB2 & IMS System Support Engineer to manage and maintain critical mainframe database systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in installing, patching, upgrading, and supporting DB2 & IMS systems, along with strong problem-solving skills to handle system-level alerts and issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation, Patching & Upgrading of DB2 & IMS on z/OS mainframe systems.
• System-level alerting and issue resolution for DB2 & IMS databases.
• SySGEN for IMS and management of subsystem refreshes.
• Encryption & Replication implementation and support for DB2.
• IPL Support (Initial Program Load) and troubleshooting.
• Disaster Recovery planning & execution for DB2 & IMS.
• Performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization of DB2 & IMS systems.
• Work closely with application, storage, and security teams to ensure seamless database operations.
• Maintain compliance with industry best practices and security policies.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in Mainframe z/OS DB2 & IMS System Administration & Support.
• Hands-on experience in installing, patching, and upgrading DB2 & IMS subsystems.
• Strong knowledge of IMS SySGEN, Subsystems Refreshes, and DB2 Encryption.
• Expertise in DB2 Replication and Disaster Recovery processes.
• Experience in IPL Support and System-Level Alerting.
• Proficiency in JCL, REXX, and Automation tools related to DB2 & IMS.
• Good understanding of z/OS system internals, security, and performance tuning.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with CA DB2 Tools, BMC, or IBM DB2 utilities.
• Knowledge of RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret Security for Mainframes.
• Familiarity with Cloud integration for mainframe databases.
• Relevant IBM DB2 or IMS certifications are a plus.
