Assistant General Manager Projects

Position/Profile Title: Assistant General Manager Projects (Mechanical)

Experience: 18+ years

Essential Qualification: Graduate in Mechanical Engineering

Desired Area of Expertise: Project works and all facets of execution related to Construction

Internal Interface (Designations): All departments (According to task)

External Interface (Suppliers/Govt Bodies/Communities/Vendors ): Vendors, Government bodies, Suppliers, etc.

Reporting to: General Manager, Projects

Reportees: Project Management Team

Roles and Responsibility:

- Coordinate a project from start to finish, with all trades Civil, Mechanical, Electrical etc.

- Organize and maintain the schedule of work, costings and budget

- Be familiar with the latest Indian standard codes and specifications used in project works

- Be able to negotiate sub-contracts, communicate with architects and structural engineers, cross-check the Construction drawings and work in close coordination with entire team

- Plan the work on day-to-day basis and oversee the buying of necessary materials and equipment in line with the program of works

- Manage the project work at construction site on a day-to-day basis, including supervising the labor force, monitoring subcontractors, checking materials, inspecting work and overseeing quality control

- Ensure the works are delivered on time and on budget so that the projects are not delayed

- Be familiar with carrying out relevant tests for construction materials at site or in laboratory

- Promote and maintain health and safety, including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed

- Review the works progress on daily basis

- Provide periodical progress reports related to project works to management

- Maintain regular communication and attend meetings with all stakeholders and their representatives to inform them of progress on the project

- Have a sound commercial awareness - to allocate and manage budget effectively and to understand concerns

Required

- Have executed multiple projects of not less than 50 crores each, preferably in Industrial projects

- capable of handling three or more projects at a time

- Exposure to Brown & Green field projects
