We are seeking a dynamic Senior Engineering Manager with 10-17 years of experience to lead and manage a highly skilled team of engineers. This role requires expertise in Backend Development, specifically in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the technical vision, overseeing the design and development of scalable backend systems, and ensuring the highest standards of software quality and team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership & Team Management :
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance.
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, training, and professional development of team members.
- Set clear objectives, KPIs, and performance goals for team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align development efforts with business goals.
Backend Architecture & Design :
- Drive the design, development, and implementation of scalable backend systems and microservices architecture.
- Collaborate with product managers, solution architects, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver optimal backend solutions.
- Ensure that best practices are followed in the design and development process, including code reviews, architecture reviews, and mentoring junior engineers.
- Provide guidance on resolving technical challenges, ensuring maintainability, scalability, and high performance.
Technical Expertise :
- Design and develop high-quality backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and related technologies.
- Ensure systems are robust, fault-tolerant, and optimized for performance in a distributed environment.
- Advocate for clean, efficient, and maintainable code by implementing coding standards and reviewing code quality.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement :
- Work closely with other engineering teams to ensure the backend systems integrate seamlessly with front-end, data, and DevOps teams.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to manage project timelines, deliverables, and expectations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement through feedback, retrospectives, and the introduction of innovative development practices.
Process Improvement & Innovation :
- Champion the adoption of industry best practices, such as Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline development cycles and increase team efficiency.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in backend development and microservices.
