Finance Manager
About the Job:
Job Purpose:
- The Finance Manager is a critical role responsible for the financial health and strategic direction of the company.
- This position requires a highly motivated and experienced individual who can provide expert financial guidance, manage all financial aspects of the organization, and contribute to the overall success of the business.
- The Finance Manager will play a key role in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- This role involves close collaboration with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Required Experience: 2-4 years
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Develop and maintain robust financial models and forecasts, providing insights into future financial performance.
- Analyze financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and prior periods, identifying key trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations to support business decisions, including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and cash flow projections.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to evaluate the financial implications of strategic initiatives, new product launches, and other business opportunities.
- Provide financial support and guidance to other departments, assisting them in developing business cases and evaluating investment opportunities.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to develop realistic and achievable budgets.
- Develop and maintain rolling financial forecasts, incorporating current business trends and anticipated changes in the market.
- Monitor budget adherence and financial performance throughout the year, providing timely feedback and recommendations to management.
- Implement and manage budget control processes, ensuring that expenditures are in line with approved budgets.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annually) in accordance with applicable accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS).
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all financial reporting activities.
- Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs and strategic objectives.
- Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts, anticipating future cash needs and identifying potential funding sources.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, optimizing working capital and minimizing bad debt.
- Manage banking relationships and negotiate credit facilities as needed.
Internal Controls & Compliance:
- Implement and maintain a strong internal control framework to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations, policies, and procedures, minimizing financial risk and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws.
- Conduct periodic reviews of internal controls and procedures to identify areas for improvement.
Team Management:
- Supervise and mentor finance team members, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Delegate tasks effectively and empower team members to take ownership of their responsibilities.
Strategic Initiatives:
- Support strategic planning and decision-making processes, providing financial insights and analysis to senior management.
- Participate in financial due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, or other business initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of long-term financial plans and strategies.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners.
- Present financial information to senior management, the board of directors, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with other departments within the organization, providing financial support and guidance as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 2-4 years of progressive experience in financial management.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in relevant financial software and ERP systems.
