Job Description:
- This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing valuable financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting:
- Oversee all aspects of the accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS).
- Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze financial reports for management and stakeholders, including variance analysis, key performance indicators (KPIs), and financial forecasts.
- Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.
- Monitor key financial metrics and identify areas for improvement in financial performance.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Prepare and manage the annual budget and forecast.
- Monitor budget performance and identify potential variances.
- Provide financial support for strategic planning and business development initiatives.
Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Prepare and file tax returns (corporate income tax, sales tax).
- Manage tax audits and related matters.
Team Management:
- Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals (if applicable).
- Oversee the hiring, training, and development of accounting staff.
Systems & Processes:
- Implement and maintain accounting systems and processes, including ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and controls.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's / master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS.
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, ERP systems).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
