Senior DB2 Database Expert - Administration & Performance Tuning (5-7 yrs)

About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DB2 Database Administrator to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of high-performance and reliable DB2 database systems.

You will play a key role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of mission-critical databases.

Key Responsibilities :

- Installation, configuration, and administration of DB2 databases.

- Database performance tuning and optimization.

- Database backup and recovery procedures.

- Database security management (user accounts, roles, permissions).

- Design and implement relational databases at an enterprise level.

- Expert-level knowledge of DB2 database technologies, including SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.

- Experience with Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) systems like Hibernate or JPA.

- Strong understanding of database concepts (i.e., normalization, indexing, partitioning).

- Diagnose and resolve database performance issues.

- Automate database tasks using scripting languages (i.e., shell scripting, Perl).

- Collaborate effectively with application developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications :

Experience : 5+ years of hands-on experience as a DB2 Database Administrator.

Technical Skills :

- Expert-level knowledge of DB2 database administration and management.

- Strong SQL skills and experience with database performance tuning.

- Experience with database design and modeling methodologies.

- Experience with database security and auditing.

- Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Certifications : Relevant DB2 certifications (i.e., IBM Certified Database Administrator for DB2) are a plus
