Database Administrator - SQL Server (4-7 yrs)

Job Description :

Responsibilities :

- Administer and maintain SQL Server databases across all environments, ensuring high availability, optimal performance, and data integrity.

- Implement and oversee policies and procedures for database security and integrity, including access controls, encryption, and data masking.

- Manage backups, data recovery, and data migrations to ensure data integrity and business continuity.

- Address and resolve database performance issues, such as slow queries, deadlocks, and blocking. Optimize systems for reliability, speed, and efficiency.

- Collaborate with IT teams to align database management with organizational goals and assist with system upgrades and migrations.

- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.

- Assist in the planning and implementation of database changes, including new deployments, schema modifications, and upgrades.

- Monitor and support database replication, ensuring data consistency and availability across different locations.

- Work closely with data engineering teams to design and implement data models that align with business requirements.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 4-7 years of proven experience in database administration, specifically with Microsoft SQL Server.

Technical Skills :

- Strong knowledge of database structures, systems, and data management concepts.

- Experience with Replication, database performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

- Experience with data backup, recovery, security, and integrity practices.

Soft Skills :

- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various teams within the organization.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice to Have :

- Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database).

- Experience with other database technologies (e.g., MongoDB).

- Experience with Geo Spatial data and queries.

- Experience managing SSRS in a production environment.
