Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead SQL Developer to join our team.

As a Lead SQL Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex SQL queries and database systems, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in database design, SQL query optimization, and leadership skills to guide and mentor junior developers.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and oversee the design, development, and implementation of complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.

- Perform database design and optimization, ensuring efficiency and performance of SQL queries.

- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into database solutions.

- Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data pipelines.

- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior developers, ensuring best practices are followed.

- Manage and maintain database objects, including tables, views, indexes, and schemas.

- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

- Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, including query optimization, indexing, and resource allocation.

- Create and maintain documentation for database design, development processes, and SQL scripts.

- Lead code reviews and enforce coding standards.

- Work closely with the DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth database deployments and environments.

- Continuously research and apply best practices in SQL development, database management, and cloud-based solutions.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's / master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

- 4+ years of experience in SQL development and database management.

- Strong experience in designing and developing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

- Expertise in performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries and database structures.

- Proficient in database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.

- Experience with ETL tools and data integration solutions.

- Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g. , AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).

- Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts and techniques.

- Experience with version control systems (e.g. , Git).

- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

- Ability to work independently and lead a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus
