Diploma in relevant Engineering Discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant construction experience.
Certifications:
Valid Level-2 Certificate in the relevant NDT methodologies (RT/UT) is mandatory.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Discipline Engineer Welding/NDT to manage and oversee welding and non-destructive testing (NDT) operations in construction projects.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with NDT methodologies such as Radiographic Testing (RT) and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and a strong understanding of construction quality standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Welding Operations Supervision:
Develop and implement welding procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
Monitor and inspect welding processes and ensure high-quality workmanship.
Address and resolve any welding-related issues at the construction site.
2. Non-Destructive Testing (NDT):
Perform and supervise NDT operations using RT and UT methodologies to assess material and weld integrity.
Interpret NDT results and provide clear recommendations based on findings.
Maintain compliance with NDT codes, standards, and project requirements.
3. Technical Compliance:
Ensure that all NDT procedures and welding operations align with relevant IS Codes and industry standards.
Stay updated on the latest NDT technologies and welding advancements.
Calibrate and maintain NDT equipment to ensure reliable testing results.
4. Coordination & Communication:
Liaise with clients, consultants, and project teams to discuss technical requirements and quality concerns.
Act as the point of contact for NDT and welding quality issues with external agencies and stakeholders.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.
5. Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare detailed inspection and testing reports for welding and NDT activities.
Maintain accurate records of NDT certifications, welding qualifications, and test results.
Submit quality assurance documentation as required for audits and project reviews.
6. Quality Assurance & Safety:
Implement and enforce quality control measures for welding and NDT operations.
Promote adherence to safety protocols during all testing and welding activities.
Conduct regular quality checks and address non-compliance issues.
Key Skills & Requirements:
Education:
Degree (2+ years of experience) or Diploma (4+ years of experience) in a relevant engineering discipline.
Certifications:
Mandatory Valid Level-2 Certificate in relevant NDT methodologies (RT/UT).
Experience:
Relevant experience in construction with expertise in welding and NDT operations.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of NDT methods (RT/UT), IS Codes, and quality standards in construction.
Proficiency in interpreting NDT results and developing quality recommendations.
Software Skills:
Proficient in MS Office tools for reporting and documentation.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with clients and teams.
Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
