Electrical Technician

GIFTCL invites application for the position of Electrical Technician. This is a contractual position for a period of 5 years. The remuneration will be commensurate with qualification and experience.

The candidate should have done ITI in electrical engineering with minimum 3 years of experience. Detailed job description is as under,

• Consumer Power connection & disconnection: Independently perform connection and disconnection activities, issue & deposit the material from and to the store.
• Energy Meter Installation, removal & testing: Independently perform installation and removal of whole current & CT meters for consumers at site and testing of existing energy meter as per schedule.
• Interaction with consumers for various work-related activities.
• Data management of daily routine work.
• Vigilance of consumers installation as per schedule.
• Undertake projects and other works as assigned by the management.

Competencies Required :

• Perform installation, inspection and testing of energy meters, metering equipment and other electrical equipment.
• Responsible for use, care and security of tools, equipments and materials utilized.
• Meet and work with the public effectively and courteously.
• Must be familiar with and have the ability to use meter test equipment.
• Must have the ability to work without close supervision and to make decisions compatible with prior instructions.
• Must have math, reading and writing skills related to job functions.
• Demonstrated high level of cooperation within the work group and with other departments required.
