Employee Relations Specialist

Position: Employee Relations Specialist
Experience Required: 7+ years

Role Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Employee Relations Specialist to foster a positive work environment, handle conflict resolution effectively, and ensure compliance with labor laws. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills and a proven track record of managing employee relations while promoting a culture of fairness and transparency.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues and concerns.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive employee relationships.
  • Conduct regular employee engagement surveys and analyze feedback to identify areas of improvement.
  • Conflict Resolution:
  • Mediate disputes between employees and/or management, ensuring impartial and effective resolutions.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees in handling sensitive workplace situations.
  • Implement proactive measures to reduce workplace conflicts and improve team dynamics.
  • Labor Laws Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal labor laws and regulations.
  • Conduct audits and provide recommendations to maintain compliance with employment laws.
  • Stay updated on changes in labor laws and advise the HR team on necessary adjustments.
  • Negotiation and Advocacy:
  • Act as an advocate for employees while balancing the organization's objectives.
  • Lead discussions and negotiations on workplace policies, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
  • Support collective bargaining processes, if applicable, by preparing for and participating in negotiations.
  • Policy Development and Communication:
  • Assist in developing and updating employee relations policies and procedures.
  • Ensure clear communication of policies to employees and management.
  • Train managers and staff on employee relations best practices and labor law compliance.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, and labor law compliance.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software and tools.
