Business Analysis:

This role leads the analytics function for India's first profitable horizontal e-commerce platform (achieved in July 2023), a company committed to sustainable growth, democratizing online commerce, and unlocking the potential of smaller markets. As Head of Analytics, the focus will be on building a high-impact organization known for its top talent, ownership, and influential insights. This involves establishing a team and culture that directly drives business outcomes and guides decision-making across the company.

The leader will be responsible for hiring, mentoring, and retaining exceptional talent, as well as setting the overall strategy and vision for analytics, aligning insights and data-driven initiatives with the company's mission. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, this role collaborates closely with them and is responsible for the overall analytics strategy.

The position oversees approximately 150 employees within the product organization's analytics teams.

Responsibilities:

- Organizational Development and Talent Management: Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing analytics organization. Cultivate a culture of ownership, accountability, and influence, empowering team members to drive impactful insights.

- Strategic Vision and Leadership: Develop and execute a clear analytics strategy aligned with the company's mission. Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to establish and embed a data-driven mindset across the organization.

- Data Infrastructure and Governance: Collaborate with engineering to ensure reliable data infrastructure and accessibility. Define and enforce data governance practices that uphold data quality and consistency.

- Product Insights and Reporting: Deliver actionable insights to drive product improvements and operational efficiency. Develop KPIs, dashboards, and reports that provide visibility into key metrics for all teams efficiency. - Advanced Analytics and Experimentation: Lead initiatives in predictive analytics, machine learning, and A/B testing to support product and business teams. Guide experimentation and data-driven innovation to uncover growth opportunities


Requirements:

- 10+ years of experience in analytics or data science, preferably within consumer tech, with a history of driving impactful business outcomes through data.

- Organizational and Team Building Expertise: Demonstrated success in building, mentoring, and retaining high performing analytics teams within matrix organizations.

- Skilled in creating a culture of ownership, accountability, and influence, empowering team members to make significant contributions.

- Strategic Vision and Execution: Experience in defining and executing an analytics strategy that aligns with company-wide objectives, driving alignment and data-driven culture across product, business, and engineering teams.

- Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in SQL, data visualization tools (e. g., Tableau, PowerBI), and advanced analytics tools (Python, R). Understanding of data architecture, data warehousing, and ETL processes to ensure data integrity and accessibility.

- Advanced Analytics and Experimentation: Proficiency in predictive modeling, machine learning, and experimentation (A/B testing) to guide innovation and uncover growth opportunities.

- Excellent Communication and Influence: Ability to clearly communicate insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, serving as a trusted partner to leadership and cross-functional teams.

- Should be able to function well in ambiguity and a start-up environment.

- Strong stakeholder relationship management skills - able to influence and manage the expectations of key internal and external stakeholders.

- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

- Team worker, a persistent and perseverant leader with strong credibility and ability to build and grow teams.

- Good people management skills with a natural disposition to coach and mentor employees.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good presentation, and excellent negotiation skills.

- Proven experience developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans.
