Role:
- We are now seeking a candidate with 7 to 12 years of experience in data science, specifically within the life insurance sector.
Below are the detailed requirements for the role:
1. Experience:
- 7 to 9 years in data science, with a minimum of 5 to 6 years of hands-on experience in the life insurance domain.
- This is an Individual Contributor (IC) role. While the candidate will guide and assist the team, they will not have direct team management responsibilities.
2. Skills and Background:
- Strong statistical foundation, with academic qualifications in statistics.
- Actuarial exam experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated expertise in statistical analysis and data modelling.
3. Educational Background:
- Candidates should ideally be from tier 2 or tier 3 colleges, with degrees in Statistics.
4. Job Description:
Key responsibilities:
- Work closely with the broader team do define and execute EDA road map Integrated solution for business based on data driven insights and strategies.
- Perform advance Statistical and Machine learning modelling exercise to develop descriptive/ predictive/ prescriptive models.
- Perform data visualization and reporting for effective communication of insights generated by modelling exercises.
- Develop basic database queries for data extraction.
- Ability to communicate models and analysis in a clear and precise manner.
- Promote new learning and technique in the field of Data Science and its application in Insurance.
- Perform peer reviews and ideation sessions.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor and/or master's in quantitative science or similar qualifications.
- Experience of 6-8 years of model development, validation, and implementation.
- Hands-on experience with R and/or Python for hypothesis testing, statistical modelling and Machine learning.
- Proven track record on algorithm development for business problems.
- Understanding of common algorithms like GLM, Decision Trees, Random Forests, XGBoost and Time Series.
- Experience of Insurance and Actuarial Knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex algorithms to non-technical stakeholders.
