Assistant Manager Logistics Operations

Role & Responsibilities

Logistics Management:

• Coordinate and oversee the logistics operations to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Handle appointment-based logistics and quick commerce logistics to meet customer demands efficiently.
• Maintain strong communication and follow-ups with vendors to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials.
• Collaborate with transportation providers to schedule deliveries, negotiate rates, and manage carrier performance.

Cost Optimization:

• Analyze logistics costs and identify areas for improvement, such as freight rates, packaging materials, and warehouse expenses.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives to optimize logistics operations and maintain budget compliance.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors and logistics providers to secure favorable pricing and service levels.

MIS Reporting:

• Prepare and maintain detailed MIS reports to track logistics performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, inventory turnover, and shipping costs.
• Prepare reports for management, highlighting operational performance and areas for optimization

Coordination and Communication:

• Collaborate with channel partners to ensure smooth logistics operations.
• Communicate & coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders to provide updates and resolve any issues promptly.

Preferred candidate profile

• In depth knowledge and rich experience of Procurement, warehousing and Inventory management
• Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Hands on SAP
• Strong communication negotiation skills
