Excitel - Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Server Administration (7-10 yrs)

Job Summary :

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for end-to-end server administration. Your roles and responsibilities would directly impact the infrastructure of the organization. You will work diligently with the development team as well as other IT teams.

This role is an individual role, and teams will depend on you for the smooth functioning of infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities :

- Linux and Windows Administration.

- In-depth knowledge of one or more Linux: CentOS, Alma Linux, Ubuntu, Redhat, etc.

- Software RAID installation and configuration.

- OS patches update and fix vulnerability.

- Bash Scripting knowledge is a must.

- Experience with a variety of file systems and live partitioning.

- GitHub knowledge.

- Basic understanding for managing Windows servers.

- Linux services management.

- Tacacs configuration and management.

- Radius and RadMan configuration and management.

- DNS servers management (bind9).

- DNS records management.

- Docker installation and configuration.

- Apache and/or Nginx configuration and management.

- Managing PHP modules, including php-fpm.

- Auto time synchronization (Chroync) across networks.

- Speedtest server configuration and management.

- Redis server configuration and management.

- VPN server configuration and management, client-side VPN configuration.

- Snipe-IT management application installation and configuration.

- Outline tool configuration and management.

- Virtualization on private cloud.

- Excellent knowledge and understanding of KVM Hypervisor.

- Manage the Data Center Hosts via OpenNebula private cloud computing platform.

- Virtual Machine creation as per the needs of the infrastructure.

- Virtual Machine Template creation.

- Image Template creation.

- Hot and Cold Virtual Machine migrations.

- Image creation from snapshot.

- Restore VM through snapshot.

- Storage Administration.

- Experience with any storage management system will be beneficial.

- Experience with Storpool will be a great advantage.

- Database Administration.

- Database (MySQL and/or MariaDB) Administration including installation, upgrade and maintenance.

- MySQL replication, database backup and restoration.

- Network Administration.

- Virtual network configuration.

- NIC Bonding configuration.

- Bridge, VLAN installation and configuration.

- Monitoring : Monitoring tools Observium, Grafana, Telegraf, File Systems, system performance and capacity planning.

- Security :

1. Firewall Management.

2. Managing SSL certificates.

3. Port Management.

Key Competencies :

- Able and willing to create and maintain SOPs and HOWTO documentation.

- Has the ability to work alone for all the troubleshooting part.

- Good R&D skills.

- 24x7 support.

- 6 Days working.

- Knowledge of ITIL and DevOps processes will be beneficial.

- Business proficiency in English and excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

Experience : Minimum 7+ years of experience in Sysadmin.
