JOB OVERVIEW

The Sr. Civil/Structural Engineer on the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management Team (EPCM) will manage the civil design and installation of hydrogen plants during both the sales and project execution phases. This role will involve conducting feasibility studies, developing project civil and structural designs related to project foundations, buildings, access roads, and drainage, and ensuring that all structures are safe, reliable and robust. The Sr. Civil/Structural Engineer will create and update technical documents related to the Project, such as road design, trench design, building layouts, and foundation designs and

will collaborate with customers, EPC firms, and internal teams to optimize the civil infrastructure for the hydrogen project considering the project requirements, design life, safety standards, international standards, constructability aspects and operation and maintenance.

Role & responsibilities

Project Design, Optimization & Execution:

Develop the project civil and structural design (eg. Feasibility, pre-FEED, FEED) including drawings, calculations, reports and specifications of the civil infrastructure of the hydrogen plant

Participate in design review meetings and work closely with EPCs and/or Customers to optimize the project design and cost, while ensuring compliance with technical requirements and fitness for purpose.

Assist customers with the design of plant civil infrastructure.

Feasibility Studies & Site Evaluation:
Conduct detailed structural analyses, including load bearing, wind load, and seismic assessments. Develop drawings, reports, calculations, and recommend structural enhancements that optimize safety, cost, and performance. Ensure designs adhere to building codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with other engineering disciplines in EPCM and Application Engineering teams to ensure the seamless integration of structural designs with other systems. Support business development and field applications engineers in refining plant integration strategies. Work closely with business development by translating technical insights into project proposals. Work closely with relevant functions to optimize installation costs.

Risk Management & Safety:
Perform risk assessments and propose safety measures related to structural integrity, environmental impact, and system installation. Ensure all designs comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Project Support:

Provide ongoing support during the project execution phase, including design validation and construction oversight, to ensure foundation and structural elements meet specifications.

LOCATION, TRAVEL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Bangalore, India
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

FORMAL EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENT

• Bachelors degree in civil engineering or other technical fields.

WORK EXPERIENCE

• 8+ years of experience in Civil or Structural Engineering in Oil & Gas, Industrial Gas or Renewable Energy Industry
• Expertise in the design for oil, gas, chemical or industrial gas plants.
• Familiar with product or project development.
