Job Description
- Develop, design, and optimize reports, dashboards, and data models using IBM Cognos BI tools, including Report Studio, Query Studio, and Framework Manager.
- Manage and enhance IBM Cognos Analytics solutions, focusing on Framework Manager, Transformer, Data Modeling, and creating visually compelling dashboards and reports.
- Write and optimize SQL queries across various database platforms like Oracle , DB2 , Postgres , or MS SQL Server .
- Perform data modeling and ETL processes while adhering to data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Troubleshoot, validate, and implement Cognos upgrades .
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data integration and seamless business intelligence delivery.
- Leverage job scheduling tools to automate reporting processes.
- Provide support for incident management, ticket workflows, and escalation processes using platforms like ServiceNow .
- Employ scripting (DOS/batch, PowerShell) to streamline and automate workflows.
- Participate in Agile delivery methodologies, leveraging tools like Azure DevOps or similar platforms.
- Extensive experience in IBM Cognos BI tools and IBM Cognos Analytics .
- Proficiency in SQL and database management systems (DB2, Postgres, Oracle, MS SQL Server).
- Strong understanding of data integration , ETL processes , and data warehousing concepts .
- Familiarity with job scheduling tools and scripting (e.g., DOS, batch, PowerShell).
- Knowledge of other BI tools like OBIEE or Power BI is advantageous.
- Experience with ETL tools like ODI or SSIS is a plus.
- Competence in Agile delivery tools and methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
- Certifications in IBM Cognos Analytics or related areas are a plus.
- Experience in performing Cognos upgrades and validating performance improvements.
