6.40 API Inspector (Ref Div: OAI)

6.40.1 Qualifications and Experience

a) BSc Engineering Mechanical or equivalent educational qualification.

b) Shall have minimum ten (10) years of experience in Oil & Gas industry.

c) Post API 510 & API 570 certifications, the candidate should have worked in minimum ten (10) shutdowns with proven inspection experience in all kinds of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, air coolers, furnaces, columns, and reactors, etc.

d) Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing.

e) Computer literate and very good in MS office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

f) The candidate must be physically fit to work in Oil & Gas environment, working at heights, confined spaces to carry out inspection job. He shall have confined space entry training and medical fitness certificate.

6.40.2 Certifications

Following certifications are mandatory:

a) API 510

b) API 570

c) NDT certification ASNT/PCN Level II in UT, PT, MT

Following Certifications are desirable:

a) CSWIP 3.2.2 or AWS Welding certifications.

b) NDT Level III

c) RTFI

d) Pressure vessels code training.

e) Advanced NDT training in IRIS, PAUT & TOFD.

6.40.3 Primary Task

a) To inspect pressure vessels, air coolers, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, piping and furnaces.

b) Witness and approve NDT & hydro tests.

c) To calculate corrosion rates and remaining life.

d) To make a detailed report for inspection as per Qatar Energy format and update the status.
