The Assistant Manager - GL is responsible for overseeing and managing the general ledger accounting processes, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role involves reconciliations, month-end and year-end closings, GL review, preparation of financial statements, financial reporting, MIS and variance analysis, Forecast Budgeting and liaising with internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Management:
Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
Ensure adherence to accounting policies, standards (GAAP/IFRS), and internal controls.
Review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for accuracy and compliance.
Month-End Year-End Closing:
month-end and year-end closing processes.
Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and schedules for audits.
Financial Reporting Analysis:
Assist in preparing financial statements, PL accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Analyze variances and trends in financial data and provide insights.
Reconciliations Controls:
Review and approve general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and external regulations.
Assist in developing and improving accounting processes and procedures.
Audit Compliance:
Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory reporting, and other financial laws.
Work closely with auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes.
Collaborate with other finance functions, such as accounts payable, receivables, and tax teams.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software SAP or similar ERP systems.
Strong knowledge of IGAAP, INDAS, and local financial regulations.
Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).

Preferred qualifications
Education:
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
