Job Description

Education Qualification


The candidate must have a B.E./B.Tech degree or a Diploma in Civil Engineering and should have experience in land piling or any construction site.


Role & responsibilities


1. Site Supervision and Coordination

  • Oversee Construction Activities: Supervise and manage the construction activities on-site to ensure that they align with the project schedule, scope, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with Stakeholders: Communicate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and senior engineers to ensure the seamless flow of information and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Liaise with Project Managers: Regularly report to the project manager about site progress, challenges, and any adjustments needed to stay on schedule.

2. Implementation of Design Plans

  • Interpret Blueprints and Plans: Study and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, ensuring that construction is carried out according to design specifications.
  • Ensure Accuracy: Verify that the construction work aligns with the approved plans, designs, and specifications, addressing discrepancies if needed.

3. Quality Control and Assurance

  • Monitor Work Quality: Ensure that the construction work meets the required quality standards and specifications.
  • Conduct Inspections: Perform regular inspections to ensure that all work is carried out according to design and industry standards.
  • Resolve Quality Issues: Identify any quality issues or defects in materials or workmanship and take corrective actions as necessary.

4. Safety Management

  • Implement Safety Standards: Ensure that all safety protocols are strictly followed on-site, including compliance with health and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, local safety standards).
  • Conduct Safety Inspections: Regularly inspect the site for safety hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks.
  • Safety Training: Ensure that workers are properly trained in safety procedures and have the necessary protective equipment (PPE).

5. Resource Management

  • Coordinate Resources: Manage the resources (labor, materials, equipment) required for the construction project, ensuring they are available and used efficiently.
  • Material Management: Ensure that materials are delivered on time and are used effectively, minimizing waste and ensuring proper storage on-site.

6. Scheduling and Time Management

  • Monitor Project Progress: Track the progress of construction activities and ensure that they are on schedule.
  • Update Schedules: Report any delays or issues that could impact the project timeline and collaborate with other teams to adjust the schedule accordingly.
  • Implement Time-Critical Tasks: Ensure that critical tasks are prioritized to avoid delays in the overall project schedule.

7. Cost Control and Budget Management

  • Monitor Site Costs: Assist in managing site-related costs, ensuring that expenses are within the approved budget.
  • Prevent Overruns: Track and monitor the use of materials and labor to avoid waste and unnecessary expenses.
  • Request Material Orders: Communicate with the procurement team to ensure timely ordering and delivery of materials and equipment needed on-site.

8. Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting

  • Address Site Issues: Proactively address any challenges that may arise during construction, such as design issues, material shortages, or unexpected site conditions.
  • Resolve Technical Problems: Work with engineers and other professionals to solve technical problems related to construction methods, equipment, or materials.

9. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain Site Records: Keep accurate records of daily activities, including progress reports, materials used, labor hours, and any incidents that occur on-site.
  • Report to Project Manager: Provide regular updates to the project manager regarding progress, challenges, and any adjustments made to the plan.
  • Track Changes: Document any changes made to the design, schedule, or scope of work, and ensure proper approvals are obtained for these changes.

10. Subcontractor and Vendor Management

  • Manage Subcontractors: Supervise and coordinate the work of subcontractors to ensure that they meet the required standards and timelines.
  • Coordinate Deliveries: Ensure that subcontractors and suppliers deliver materials and equipment on time and to the correct specifications.
  • Monitor Subcontractor Performance: Regularly assess subcontractor performance and provide feedback to ensure quality and efficiency.

11. Environmental Management

  • Monitor Environmental Compliance: Ensure that construction activities comply with environmental regulations and sustainability practices (e.g., waste management, pollution control).
  • Minimize Environmental Impact: Implement measures to minimize the environmental impact of construction activities, including waste reduction and proper disposal of hazardous materials.

12. Team Management and Leadership

  • Manage On-Site Workforce: Supervise and direct the workforce on-site, ensuring that tasks are completed on time and according to the quality standards.
  • Provide Training: Provide guidance and training to workers on construction techniques, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Foster Teamwork: Encourage teamwork and effective communication among all personnel on-site, including workers, subcontractors, and engineers.

13. Client Interaction and Reporting

  • Client Visits: Assist in facilitating client visits and inspections, ensuring that their expectations are met.
  • Feedback and Adjustments: Address any client concerns or feedback and make necessary adjustments to the work process to meet their requirements.

14. Site Closeout and Handover

  • Final Inspections: Ensure that the project is fully completed according to the contract, including final inspections and quality checks.
  • Handover to Client: Assist in the final handover of the completed project to the client, ensuring that all documentation, warranties, and project reports are provided.
  • Post-Completion Support: Provide ongoing support for any issues or defects that may arise after project completion.
