Modernization Architect (10-18 yrs)

We are seeking a skilled Modernization Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architecture and expertise in modernizing legacy systems and applications to leverage modern technologies and architectures. This role will involve working closely with clients to assess their current environments, develop modernization strategies, and execute modernization projects to achieve business objectives and drive innovation.

Responsibilities :

- Lead the assessment of legacy systems and applications to identify opportunities for modernization, including technical debt, outdated technologies, and architectural bottlenecks.

- Develop modernization strategies and roadmaps to guide the transformation of legacy systems and applications to modern architectures and technologies.

- Design and implement modernization projects, including re-platforming, re-hosting, re-factoring, and re-architecting legacy systems to leverage cloud-native architectures, microservices, containers, and serverless computing.

- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines for modernization initiatives.

- Develop business cases and ROI analysis for modernization projects, and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and senior management.

- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams on modernization best practices, architectural principles, and technology selection.

- Monitor and track progress against modernization milestones and KPIs, and adjust strategies and plans as needed to ensure successful project delivery.

- Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for improvement and best practices to be applied to future modernization projects.

Requirements :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Minimum of [X] years of experience in architecture and modernization, with a focus on transforming legacy systems and applications to modern architectures and technologies.

- Strong understanding of modern architectural patterns and technologies, including cloud computing, microservices, containers, and serverless computing.

- Experience with modernization tools and methodologies, such as re-platforming, re-hosting, re-factoring, and re-architecting.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate cross-functional teams.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex issues and develop practical solutions.

- Experience in Agile or DevOps methodologies is a plus.

- Certification in architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or AWS Solution Architect is highly desirable.

- 10+ years of relevant experience in area of application design, development, and modernization

- Strong understanding of cloud and cloud-based application architectures

- Experience in managing and leading teams for application modernization

- Good understanding and experience of cloud- and digital-native application design principles (like micro-services, stateless application meant for cloud, containers, serverless architecture etc.)

- Expert in providing IT solutions with sound knowledge of cloud, DevOps, & application development

- Should have experience in working through all phases of the SDLC and should know about all emerging technologies, processes, and frameworks

- Experience of legacy modernization, on-prem to cloud desired

- Working knowledge of sales support practices such as opportunity identification, deal pursuit & pitching work, project scoping, and writing SOWs

- Ability to work from the client site

- Ability to travel to client location on a short notice.
