Storage Engineer - VMware/Red Hat (8-10 yrs)

About the Role :

- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Storage Engineer to join our dynamic team.

- In this critical role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cutting-edge storage infrastructure.

- You will play a key role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our data across various platforms, including DDN, Vast, and AI-specific storage solutions.

Responsibilities :

- Design, deploy, and manage complex storage solutions, including DDN, Vast, and AI-specific storage systems.

- Ensure the high availability, performance, and scalability of our storage infrastructure.

- Proactively identify and resolve storage-related performance bottlenecks and issues.

- Implement and maintain data protection strategies, including backup, replication, and disaster recovery.

- Develop and implement automation scripts for storage provisioning, management, and maintenance tasks.

- Monitor storage system health and performance using industry-standard tools.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.

- Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of storage with compute and networking resources.

- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in storage technologies and industry best practices.

- Document all storage-related procedures and configurations.

- Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.

Qualifications :

Experience : 8+ years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-grade storage systems.

Required Skills :

- Proven experience with Software Defined Storage (SDS) solutions (e.g , Ceph, VMware vSAN, OpenStack, etc.

- In-depth knowledge of block, object, and file storage architectures and services.

- Experience in designing, deploying, and managing storage clusters at scale.

- Strong understanding of storage protocols (iSCSI, NFS, SMB, S3, etc.) and file systems.

- Experience with storage virtualization and its integration with compute and networking resources.

- Hands-on experience with backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies for storage environments.

- Familiarity with automation tools (e.g , Ansible, Python, Terraform) for storage management and orchestration.

- Knowledge of performance monitoring tools for storage systems (e.g , Prometheus, Grafana, etc.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex storage environments.

- Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills :

- Certification in storage technologies or SDS platforms (e.g , VMware vSAN, NetApp, Red Hat Ceph Storage).

- Experience with containerized storage solutions (e.g , Portworx, OpenEBS, etc.

- Familiarity with cloud storage platforms and multi-cloud architectures (AWS S3, Azure Blob, etc.

- Knowledge of storage security best practices, including encryption and access control mechanisms
