Designation : Linux IT Administrator
Location : Gurugram
Job Description :
We are looking for a Linux IT administrator who will be responsible for designing, maintaining and monitoring the infrastructure; also, collaborate with other team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes. You will become an integral part of the team, making every problem of the platform a problem of your own, and solving them accordingly.
Responsibilities :
- Proactively maintain and develop all IT infrastructure (On-prem and Cloud) technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service.
- IT infrastructure to include servers, test-hardware, network interfaces and cloud resources.
- Proposing and implementing best security and IT policies across organization.
- Hands on approach in handling the systems
- Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs
- Maintain best practices for managing systems and services across all environments
- Fault finding, analysis and logging information for reporting performance exceptions
- Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning
- Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hotfixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware
- Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks
- Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
- Help tune performance and ensure high availability of infrastructure
- Design and develop infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools
- Develop and maintain configuration management solutions
Key Requirements :
- Previous working experience as a Linux Administrator for 6+ years
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a similar relevant degree
- In-depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat, CentOS, Debian, etc.
- Knowledge and Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages, configuration management tools (such as Puppet and Chef), network tools (such as iptables, Linux IPVS, HAProxy), load balancing, firewalls, etc.
- Expert in Shell, Perl, and/or Python scripting
- Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP
- Additional Linux certifications (RHCT, RHCE and LPIC) will be considered an advantage
- Knowledge of servers and switches
- Ability to build and monitor services on production servers
