Senior Linux Engineer - IT Infrastructure (4-8 yrs)

Responsibilities :

- Manage and maintain a robust Linux environment, including Red Hat, CentOS, and Ubuntu.

- Implement and configure a variety of open-source tools to support our infrastructure needs.

- Ensure infrastructure security at the network, OS, container, and application levels.

- Proactively identify and address vulnerabilities, applying security patches and hardening configurations.

- Administer and optimize database performance for platforms like Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.

- Perform tasks such as schema modifications, performance tuning, clustering, and query optimization.

- Automate routine tasks using shell scripting to improve efficiency.

- Monitor system logs and performance metrics to identify potential issues and bottlenecks.

- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure problems to ensure optimal system uptime and performance.

- Participate in capacity planning, resource allocation, and budgeting for the IT infrastructure.

- Effectively document infrastructure changes, installation procedures, and operational processes.

- Collaborate effectively with other IT professionals to ensure seamless infrastructure support.

Technical Skills (Must-Have) :

- 4+ years of experience in administering and troubleshooting Linux-based operating systems (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu).

- Expertise in deploying and configuring open-source tools in a Linux environment.

- Strong understanding of infrastructure security principles and practices.

- Experience with database administration (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and performance optimization techniques.

- Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash or Python for automation.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Technical Skills (Good to Have) :

- Experience with virtualization technologies like KVM and Xen.

- Familiarity with container orchestration platforms (e.g, Docker, Kubernetes).

- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
