Veeam Backup Administrator (2-4 yrs)

Job Description :

Responsibilities :

- Design and implement robust Veeam backup and recovery solutions tailored to meet specific project requirements and business objectives.

- Configure and manage Veeam Backup & Replication jobs for virtual machines, physical servers, applications, and critical data.

- Develop and maintain backup schedules, retention policies, and recovery procedures.

- Perform regular testing of backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and recoverability.

- Monitor backup job performance, identify and resolve issues, and optimize backup efficiency.

- Proactively manage and maintain the Veeam backup infrastructure, including servers, repositories, and proxies.

- Perform regular health checks and capacity planning for the Veeam environment.

- Manage and renew Veeam licenses, ensuring compliance and optimal utilization.

- Troubleshoot and resolve Veeam-related issues, including backup failures, restore errors, and performance bottlenecks.

- Create and maintain detailed documentation of the Veeam backup environment, configurations, and procedures.

- Install, configure, and manage VMware ESXi hosts.

- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including patching, upgrades, and performance tuning.

- Monitor ESXi host performance and resource utilization.

- Troubleshoot ESXi related issues.

- Integrate Windows and VMware systems with Azure Arc, following the Statement of Work (SOW) guidelines.

- Configure and manage backup and recovery solutions in Azure Arc environments.

- Ensure proper communication and data transfer between on-premises and cloud environments.

- Participate in the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

- Conduct regular disaster recovery drills and tests.

- Ensure that backup and recovery solutions meet business continuity requirements.

- Generate regular reports on backup job status, performance, and capacity.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of the Veeam environment, configurations, and procedures.

- Provide regular updates to management on the status of backup and recovery operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Veeam Backup Administrator.

- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing Veeam Backup & Replication solutions.

- Strong understanding of VMware ESXi host configuration and management.

- Experience with integrating on-premises systems with cloud environments, particularly Azure Arc.

- Solid understanding of backup and recovery principles and best practices.

- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) certification is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with other backup and recovery solutions.

- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell).

- Experience with storage systems and networking.
