Job Summary:
- The Trade Finance Manager (Business Development Manager) will be responsible for managing and expanding trade finance operations within the agri-commodities sector, specifically focusing on the grains business.
- This role requires expertise in structuring and executing trade finance transactions, managing relationships with financial institutions, and driving business growth through strategic partnerships.
- The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of commodity trading, risk management, and financial instruments related to trade finance.
Key Responsibilities:
Trade Finance & Structuring:
- Develop, structure, and execute trade finance solutions tailored to the grains business.
- Manage letters of credit (LCs), bank guarantees, and other financial instruments.
- Work closely with banks, financial institutions, and trade finance providers to secure funding and optimize working capital.
- Monitor financial and market risks associated with trade finance transactions.
Business Development & Relationship Management:
- Identify new business opportunities and expand trade finance services within the agri commodities sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, commodity traders, and key industry stakeholders.
- Develop partnerships to enhance trade finance offerings and support business growth.
- Negotiate terms with financial partners to optimize cost and risk exposure.
Market & Industry Analysis:
- Monitor global and regional market trends in agri-commodities and trade finance.
- Analyze competitor strategies and provide insights to enhance business positioning.
- Assess geopolitical and economic factors affecting the grain's business and trade finance structures.
Key Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in trade finance, commodity trade, or structured finance, preferably in agri-commodities.
- Strong understanding of trade finance products, including LCs, SBLCs, forfaiting, supply chain finance, and credit insurance.
- Experience in sales, procurement, and trading within the agri-commodities sector.
- Proven track record in business development, client relationship management, and deal structuring.
- Excellent knowledge of financial risk management and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, trade finance structuring, and market analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with banks, traders, and financial institutions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
