Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a strategic and results-driven Category Head to manage and grow one of their key product categories. This role will be responsible for developing the category strategy, overseeing product management, driving sales growth, and optimizing profitability. The Category Head will report to the Business Head and work closely with cross-functional teams to align the category's performance with the organization's overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Category Strategy & Growth: Develop and execute the category strategy to drive growth and profitability.
- Product & Pricing Management: Oversee product selection, pricing strategies, and lifecycle management to ensure competitive positioning.
- Vendor & Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely product availability.
- P&L Management: Own the category's P&L, focusing on optimizing margins, reducing costs, and achieving revenue targets.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing team, ensuring effective execution of category plans and collaboration across departments.
- Market & Customer Insights: Monitor industry trends, competition, and customer preferences to inform category decisions.
- Sales & Marketing Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to create and execute campaigns that drive category sales and brand visibility.
- Customer-Centric Focus: Ensure an exceptional customer experience by ensuring optimal product availability and pricing.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in category management, retail, or a similar domain.
- Proven experience in P&L management, driving category growth, and leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong business acumen and data-driven decision-making ability.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
