Assistant Production Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Operational Oversight: Manage and supervise the entire production process, including stripping old coatings, turning, welding, grinding, sandblasting, coating, polishing, and quality checking. Ensure adherence to production schedules and timely delivery of finished products.
• Team Management: Lead and manage a team of production operators and quality assurance personnel. Provide training, support, and performance evaluations to team members. Foster a safe and productive work environment through effective communication and leadership.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain stringent quality control procedures to ensure all products meet industry standards and customer specifications. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address any deviations and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization. Implement best practices in machining, grinding, and coating operations.
• Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and calibration of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance. Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all production activities comply with safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for the team.
• ISO Production Management: Ensure compliance with ISO standards in production management. Develop and maintain ISO documentation and procedures to uphold quality standards.
• Data Quality Management: Implement data quality management practices to ensure accurate and reliable production data. Utilize data analytics to monitor and improve production performance.
• Reporting: Prepare and present production reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs), to senior management. Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Your professional and personal profile:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 9 to 10 years of experience in a production management role, preferably in a machining or manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in machining, grinding, and coating processes, particularly with tungsten carbide.
• Experience with ISO production management and data quality management.
• Exposure to a global working environment.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using CAD/CAM software and other relevant production management tools. In-depth knowledge of CNC machining, welding, grinding, and coating techniques. Expertise in the grinding process, including troubleshooting, understanding various process parameters, and quality measurements. Ability to implement and monitor process parameters to ensure optimal grinding performance and product quality.
• Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues in the grinding process.
