Operations Manager/ Operations Head

Role & responsibilities

1. Oversee and manage the overall plant operations, including production, maintenance, inventory, and quality control & Dispatch.
2. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient and safe plant operations.
3. Monitor production schedules and ensure that production targets are met within the specified time frame and budget.
4. Collaborate with the production team to optimize production processes and improve productivity.
5. Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure regular equipment maintenance and repairs are conducted to minimize downtime.
6. Monitor and maintain inventory levels to prevent stock outs or excess inventory.
7. Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that products meet established standards and customer requirements.
8. Develop and implement strategies to reduce production costs and improve operational efficiency.
9. Work closely with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of raw materials and supplies.
10. Collaborate with the safety team to ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
11. Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
12. Train and supervise plant staff to ensure adherence to operational procedures and maintain a high level of performance.
13. Prepare and present regular reports on plant operations, including production output, quality metrics, and cost analysis, to senior management.
14. Stay updated with industry trends and technologies to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.

Functional Competencies Required:

1. Should have knowledge of fabrication or any other sheet metal industries.
2. Should be familiar with different kind of sheet metal operations’, like: ‘laser cutting, bending / forming, welding, machining, blasting, etc.’
3. Should have exposure towards different kind of surface treatment processes & packing standards, etc.
4. Should have knowledge of costing.
5. Proven experience in plant operations management, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
6. Strong knowledge of production and manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and safety regulations.
