AWS/AI Engineer - Cloud Platform (5-7 yrs)

One of our clients is looking to hire an AWS/AI Engineer.

Job Role : AWS/AI Engineer.

Job Type : Full-Time.

Work Mode : WFO.

Location : Chennai.

Position Summary (position purpose) :

The primary role and responsibility will be to design, implement and manage our global hybrid cloud infrastructure, primarily focused on building and deploying AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, deploy, and manage scalable, high-availability applications on AWS cloud.

- Build and implement AI-powered solutions using AWS native services, including AI agents and knowledge bases.

- Secure cloud infrastructure, implement governance, and follow AWS best practices.

- Manage user access across AWS accounts and conduct regular audits.

- Develop and execute backup and disaster recovery strategies.

- Collaborate with development teams to leverage cloud-native services.

- Optimize infrastructure based on user and application needs.

- Implement security policies, assess risks, and maintain guardrails.

- Administer and maintain HPC clusters, optimize costs, and report usage.

- Oversee infrastructure health, perform patching/upgrades, and ensure data backups.

- Lead on-premises-to-cloud migration projects, including testing and cutovers.

- Monitor and administer Linux/Windows workloads, databases, and storage.

- Design and maintain global multi-account VPC architectures and troubleshoot network issues.

- Build automation scripts using tools like PowerShell and Python, and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.

- Provide on-the-job training for organization tools, technologies, and software development processes.

Qualifications :

Education :

- Preferred : AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Security Specialist, DevOps Engineer).

Experience :

- 5+ years of hands-on IT experience, with expertise in designing, developing, testing, and managing software applications and cloud infrastructure.

- 1-2 years of experience in designing AI-powered solutions using tools like Amazon Bedrock.

- 3+ years in designing and deploying scalable public/hybrid cloud infrastructure using AWS native services (i.e., Cognito, DynamoDB, S3, RDS, IAM).

- 2+ years in managing global AWS network environments, including VPC, VPN, and hybrid cloud connectivity.

- Expertise in Linux administration, infrastructure monitoring, and application performance optimization.

- Preferred : Experience with Amazon RDS and HPC cluster administration.

Soft Skills :

- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
