Job Overview:

- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President (VP) to lead our Software Department.

- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, team management, solution design including software design (architecture review,) project delivery, and research & development.

- This role requires a strategic leader who is comfortable with technical decision-making, cross-functional collaboration, and driving innovation.

- The VP will oversee the department's operations, ensuring timely delivery of software projects while maintaining high-quality standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

- The role also involves business travel to engage with clients and teams in various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

- Lead, mentor, and manage the software department of 100+ members, including software engineers, database engineers, android team, support engineers

- Build and maintain high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

- Provide career development opportunities, performance evaluations, and guidance to team members.

- Establish and maintain a productive and positive culture within the department.

Architecture Review & Technical Leadership:

- Oversee and lead the design, development, and implementation of software architecture and technical solutions.

- Conduct regular architecture reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and alignment with business goals.

- Evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and tools, recommending innovative solutions to improve product development.

- Maintain a deep understanding of the technical landscape and provide direction on emerging technologies.

Project Delivery & Execution:

- Ensure the timely delivery of software projects, meeting both internal and external requirements.

- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to meet delivery deadlines.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product management, marketing, sales) to ensure alignment on project goals and customer needs.

- Provide status updates and reports to senior leadership on project progress, challenges, and solutions.

Research & Development (R&D):

- Drive and oversee the R&D initiatives to support innovation and product development.

- Identify and explore new industry trends and technology frameworks, integrating them into product development efforts.

- Foster an environment where new ideas and creative problem-solving are encouraged.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

- Work closely with product management, sales, and presales to ensure software solutions align with business objectives.

- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop strategies for technology growth and scalability.

- Assist with identifying key business opportunities and aligning them with software capabilities.

Business Travel:

- Be open to frequent business travel to engage with clients, partners, and internal teams across various locations.

- Attend industry events and conferences to represent the company and stay current with market trends.

Skills or knowledge or experience:

- High level of expertise across Angular, and .NET

- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the software industry, preferably in B2B software or related sectors.

- Should have knowledge on the best practices with ERP integration especially SAP.

- Should have knowledge on best practices for machine integration and different formats for integration.

- Strong background in software development, architecture design, and system integration.

- Excellent track record in managing and mentoring technical teams, fostering growth and high performance.

- In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies including microservices project management practices, and industry best practices.

- Should have knowledge on cloud and on prem deployments.

- Expertise in designing scalable, secure, and high-performance software system and associated database and architecture

- Solid experience with R&D and innovation in software solutions.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

- Ability to think strategically and execute with precision.

- Comfortable with business travel and occasional relocation for project delivery or client engagement.

Good to have:

- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

- Experience in B2B software companies, SaaS, or enterprise software solutions.

- Experience across Python

- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or similar project management methodologies.

- Exposure to cloud computing, machine learning, or AI technologies.

- Previous experience working with cross-functional teams in a global environment.
